Women CEO Summit and Women Rising Awards
On Thursday, 19th September 2017, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan was invited to participate at the Women CEO Summit and Women Rising Awards as a Keynote Speaker. This event was organized by The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE).
The summit and awards brought together about two hundred students and executives as well as established and up-and-coming corporate women, CEOs and entrepreneurs such as Ms. Afua Boahemaa Owusu, founder of Assure Advisors, Gloria Buckman, the CEO of Planit Ghana, Yolanda Cuba, the CEO of Vodafone Ghana, Angela Klufio, vice president of First Choice just to name a few; who are aspiring for economic dominance and global business leadership. Mrs. Hagan gave an insightful and enlightening talk on the topic “Striking the Balance: The Ghanaian Women and the workplace” This was further followed by a five minutes questions and answers session with the audience.
This talk sought to give women insight on the importance of maintaining a balance regardless of the many roles that women play at work, home, church and the society as a whole. She also emphasized that one size does not fit all when it comes to work life balance.
After the questions and answers session, two panel discussions were held on the topic “Leading in a male dominated industry” and “Expanding women’s access to capital: how to find it and spend it wisely”. This was then followed by an awards ceremony where several women entrepreneurs and professionals were awarded for their outstanding achievements and contributions they played in the development of the private sector and the economy of Ghana.
The summit ended successfully with a cocktail, networking and photo shoot session.
